Movies, Books, and Benediction

So this summer is going to be the summer of great movies and books. I am highly anticipating the next few coming months. For my reading pleasures, the sixth
  • Harry Potter
  • movie is coming out on July 16th. Then the next book in the Inheritance series is coming out. That’s right, the next book,
  • Eldest
  • . As far as movies, there are plenty of those too. Showcase Cinemas is going to be getting plenty of my hard earned [*eye rolling*] money this summer. Let’s see there will be the final episode of Star Wars, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Fantastic Four, Batman Begins, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, War of the Worlds, and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Nov.). I will most definitely see all on opening day (or hope to), and read the books the day they come out. You can take the book part to the bank. If I hadn’t quit Pizza Hut recently, I had already reserved off those days the books hit the bookstores.
If you haven't seen the trailers for these movies, take the time and go watch them on the net. Do it! Do it now!
To switch gears a little bit, I would like to congratulate the newly arrival of Pope Benedict XVI. I want to make it known that I have no intention of knocking you, especially on the very day elected. To the “letter” networks, shame on you for rudely insulting the new Pontificate, please let him at least settle into office before passing judgment upon the decisions he has not even made yet. Calling him an “interim” pope or the “bulldog,” reporting that he is a Nazi, by your anchor’s, is bad journalism. And this rhetoric is nothing more than bias opinion that should be reserved for editorials. I could rant on this subject for quite awhile. But as it is, we should not. It has become a day of celebration at my house. All I can say is that my father is extremely giddy, as if he is a little kid on his birthday, anticipating the coming events like I am anxiously awaiting this summer’s next blockbusters. Not that I participate in the jovial events. But I hope you all appreciate the historical significance of the events that trespassed today. Sure, the news maybe right, this new Pope surely cannot last more than a few years. He’s 78 for Christ’s sake. Yet, he is healthy too. He may live another ten years. And in ten years, who knows what could happen. Surely, not after Pope John Paul II dies, and you [media moguls] praise his life and all he had accomplished, that you turn around and bite the very next man who successes him, who was his right hand man. That just is not normal. Oh, wait—this is the media we are talking about… What was I thinking?
    Peace out, Michael
