What's up with Mikey? Don't you call me Mikey, bitch... I kick you in the nuts...
So I have tonight just submitted some of my writing to the University of Cincinnati’s undergraduate newspaper called the Short Vine. The deadline is the same day that our taxes are due, yup that’s right, this Friday. I hope my entries will be in on time. I am sure they will. As it is, I have never sent something by mail that required more than one stamp. It was rather eerie. I sent in two select poems and a short story that I have previously posted on this blog. I thought it was a little bit of okay for a piece that was completely free-writing. And when I say free-writing, I mean it. Actually, everything on this blog is a result of free-writing. I suppose everyone’s are. Anyhew… I have my hopes for that, and will let you guys know if anything happens from it.
To change the subject a bit, I might not be graduating this august after all. After meeting with the lady in charge of graduation for the college of Arts and Sciences today, she told me that usually the committee does not grant appeals for residency hours. They only lower them to about forty-five. This means that if I am not granted my desire, I willl have to return for another 27 credit hours, that means not until winter I will be graduating.
A bummer yes… and no… On one hand, if I do graduate on time, it means less money spent out of my pocket (actually my parents said they would stop payment because I will not be a write off on their taxes anymore). It also means I can go out there and find a damn job. On the other hand, I will have to take more classes, and I might see if I cannot minor in something. All of my history credits have been taken. I think I am quite through with it anyway. Five years is enough for the study of that subject. I think I might try a minor in literature. I have to find out more information on that one. Another plus would be that I would have more time to find a decent job if I am delayed from graduating too (let’s hope on that one too). All right, time to get off here… Peace out, Michael
