Silence, Camping, and No Booze: A Trip to the Land Between the Lakes, KY

So, Chris and I went camping for the first time in a long time. It was nice to get back on the trail again with Goober. Due to restrictions of distance amongst other things, we haven't been out since I think the last time we went to the Gorge. And that was I think two or more years ago. Wow! Has it been that long? Oh-well...
I had a good time, but let me just say this, I need to be more prepared for the next time we go out. Wow there was a lot of silence. I guess I really never noticed before, because I was usually too loud and obnoxious from all the booze. It was different this time, not bad, but different. Chris asked me before we left, even though I was planning on it anyway, not to drink at all this trip. And I did fairly well. I think Chris did too. Not this is his first camping trip without booze, but it is his first without booze while we camped. At times, there were akward silences... We just ran out of stuff to talk about after like 7pm. I never knew before that at the campsite, without beer/booze it can be really boring, unless I am totally kicking the shit out of goob at checkers... ha ha ha... And I am not going to say that we had better times while camping before because of beer, though it may be so, but that we were bored half the time on this trip (aside from playing rock-homerun derby) because we are boring people.
On a whole I thought the trip was extremely relaxing and refreshing. It was a break from the hustle and I enjoyed it even though it was kind of boring. Maybe that was the best part. How many times in my life have I just sat back and enjoyed being bored? I don't think I ever have. So Goob, 'cause I know you are reading this (or will), I had a good time so don't read into the no booze part too much. Though, I think next time when we go out, if you don't mind, I want to have a couple beers (in moderation of course--like a sixer). Whadya say to that? I wonder how many more times I can say the fucking word booze? Booze, booze, booze, booze, booze... there I think I am done with that...
Anyway, here below are some pics I took with my camera. I'll fill in the details later about what is going on in some of them. And there will be others to come after I get the rest of the photo's from Chris. Well, I'm-a tired of-a sharin', and since I am exhausted from my travels, I think I am going to mosey off to bed and meet the Sandman halfway tonight. He might appriciate that jesture. 'Cause he's always complaining that my stop is way too far out of the way for him. So I dunno... I got nothin'

Peace out peoples,
