praecox??? What the fuck does that mean???

de·men·tiaa A condition of deteriorated mentality that is characterized by marked decline from the individual's former intellectual level and often by emotional apathy

ma·ni·a (m n - , m n y ) A manifestation of bipolar disorder characterized by profuse and rapidly changing ideas, exaggerated gaiety, excessive physical activity, and decreased sleep.

par·a·noi·a (p r -noi ) A psychotic disorder characterized by systematized delusions, especially of persecution or grandeur, in the absence of other personality disorders. An extreme, irrational distrust of others.

Schizophrenia is most commonly characterized by both 'positive symptoms' (those additional to normal experience and behavior) and 'negative symptoms' (the lack or decline in normal experience or behavior). Positive symptoms are grouped under the umbrella term psychosis and typically include delusions, hallucinations, and thought disorder. Negative symptoms may include inappropriate emotional displays or flat emotional affect, poverty of speech, and lack of motivation. Some models of schizophrenia include thought disorder and planning problems in a third grouping, the 'disorganization syndrome'. Additionally, neurocognitive deficits may be present. These take the form of reduction or impairment in basic psychological functions such as memory, attention, problem solving, executive function and social cognition. The onset is typically in late adolescence and early adulthood, with males tending to show symptoms earlier than females.

Avolition is a general lack of desire, motivation, and persistence. Commonly seen in patients with schizophrenia, those suffering from avolition will not start or complete any major tasks. This differs from anhedonia, where patients generally find task completion pleasureless.

Always on a quest to find the bigger better excuse for it all, for myself, I spent a little too much time tonight, because I couldn’t fall asleep, looking up definitions.
“Michael, why didn’t you go to school this morning?”
“Um—‘cause I am … fill-in-the-blank… that’s why…”
“Oh!”
“That’s what I thought…”
Anyway, you may see where this could go…
I’m not crazy, I just like to pretend I am. Though, I’d have to admit that I fit the profile of a lot of these conditions…
Hmmmm
Fucking 3:30 in the morning
I need to get more sleep
Sleep is goodI like sleep
It’s overrated
No it isn’t
Yes it is
Look, I’m not going to argue with you.
You already are
Whatever
Maybe the pretending isn’t pretending?
Ooooh that’s deep
Shut up
You
Stupid floating white dish-bowl
I should spend more time reading
Maybe you should
Go away
You
Fine
Fine
Well, I’m off to find something better to do.
You do that
