Drunken Philosophies and Rantings: As I always say, "Draehma Draehma Draehma..."

As I always say, "Draehma Draehma Draehma..."

My Curse...
This morning as I was closing in on the Kenwood exit on Interstate 71, about twenty minutes from my house, when my car decides to take a play out of the old play book and start stalling on me as I am driving seventy miles an hour. Nothing like your power steering going out in icy conditions on a traffic trodden highway.
Anyway, I am fine. so don't you guys worry your little heads at all. No accident, and thankfully I was able to turn over the ignition and start the truck up again in a heartbeat of adrenaline pumping fast action (which I still don't know how my reflexes did it... it's not like they are trained to do so... I guess sometimes, there are basic functions of survival that kick in in times of dire/probable threat.) Luckily I hadn't passed the exit yet and was close enough to pull off and head to the gas station. Once I got up the ramp, the truck began to act normal again. So, I decided to push my luck and see how far it would get me down Montgomery Rd (which is the road my neighborhood is on about nine miles down). It didn't make it a block. About every block or so, I had to pull in, shut off the engine for about five mins or so, then climb back out in the ever increasing traffic flow on the populated road.
I made it home just a few minutes before I started on this rant. In all it took me about an hour and a half to go nine-ten miles. I just kept thinking to myself that soon I was going to hear on one of the radio station's, their traffic reporter laughing about some stupid jackass causing commuters this morning to be delayed because their car broke down in the middle lane on a busy highway.
So, here I am, contemplating the horrible luck I have had with my automobiles over the years. And recently, it seems that fate is punishing me for my past perversions (get your mind out of the gutter or wait till I get back to join you) and it is throwing a lot to slow me down in moving on in life. Sure, I am doing the rest, but this is certainly not helping my cause at all. Like a couple months ago, when I was in the midst of finishing my last quarter before I graduated, life threw me a curve ball and blew up my other auto. BaRstard!
It just seems that all my life I have had issues with my mode of transportation. In the beginning, I bought a used car for a grand and it was an awful car, but at least it was mine, bought and paid for. But it didn't last. Though, mostly to no fault but my own, I was grounded more often then not from using the damn thing and had to walk or ride my bike to school, work, practices. Then came the Prelude. Ah blessed be the Lude. I loved that little car and still have her key on her old chain in my memory box (don't make fun... you all have your silly versions of them... mine happens to be in a converse all-star shoe box). It was my first manual transmission, and a little beat up love of my life my senior year of high school. Yet I had to leave it at home for college and eventually, because it wasn't running everyday or even once a week, she eventually died when I came home that next summer. Of course after that was Car-CRT2114, which lasted me the longest and was the most expensive car I had owned to date. But we all know what happened to her. Now, it is the trucks turn. I need a new car... GODDAMNIT!

Peace out peoples,
-sib-

Well, I am happy to report that heating is a go-go in my house 24-7. Even in August if it's cold. And we have an open fire in the living room too, just for good measure...

[lowers head]
brrrrrrrrr....
goddamn it...
it's too cold in the morning, but at least at night time, the air is just right to sneak under the covers and fall asleep easier than it would be if it were any hotter...
so there's that

are you kidding? Of course...
#1: The body naturally is susceptible to sleep in colder weather because the body is using more energy to stay warm...
#2: It's not like it's arctic in my house, but under a couple blankets it is quite toasty and pleasant...

as you can probably guess, it is another day at home for me...
yay! Truck is going to be towed to the shop later... bleh...

I've noticed that girls like to be about 3,000 degrees when they're sleeping. It drives me nuts, I can't stand being even a little too warm. Most of the time all I have is just a sheet, and a light blanket in the winter if it's cold. Which it is in my apartment at the moment... electric bill was pretty high last month. Damn snakes...

As far as cars go, we've all had and retired our share... you just seem to destroy them quicker than some. It's the curse of being young and poor. You can never afford a car that will last more than 3 or 4 years, but that means you have to keep buying a new car every 3 or 4 years and you never save up any substantial amount of money... The world is a cruel and unfair place...

..."a sheet and a light blanket in winter"...
Personally I have two or three duvets, a thick throw and a cat.
And the heating on, of course -cheesy grin-
But then I do have Snape in there too, even though he has a heater in his viv.
