Drunken Philosophies and Rantings

Tuesday, February 07, 2006

I came downstairs to type an essay about the essence of eyes, but instead I find that there is something else that wanted to creep out. Today, and forever from now on, every Tuesday shall be known as a little bit random day. Yes, that's right folks, today, as it is twelve o'clock o'er here, it is our duty as for the sanity of this living world which exists in, through, by chaos, to remind others that we know that it is not the complete opposite. Now, I am not asking for much of myself or you out there, but only something you could do that would add flavor, if not for others, to your day. Life lived in the trivial should be celebrated as such. It doesn't have to be anything wild, but something as simple as a off beat, perhaps nonsensical, comment in the midst of a conversation. For example, if one was talking about the the importance of using a butter knife instead of a steak knife to spreads ones peanut butter on the bread to a colleague or a friend, perhaps brother, then for no reason what so ever throw in a random comment like, "pickles are green..." at the end of the conversation. THEN, and this is important, do not justify your comment with any further explanation (except perhaps by telling them you were feeling quite random if need be). As most of my friends could tell you all, random comments tend to pop up frequently in conversations with me. It is just a habit. So if you want any pointers, I'll be glad to share my knowledge...
Peace out peoples and good luck,

I'm going to do that.
No - hang on - I do that already! It forms an integral part of my surreal existance and makes me all the mroe ingruiging.
I say, anyway.
So.....you big on eyes, then SIB? Me too....mmmm, big, dark, mysterious ones like chocolate....chocolate....chocolate...huh? What was I saying?

I do it already as well...
though, there hasn't been an official day set for everyone else to follow...
so...

yes, I likes the eyes too...
they are the most attractive feature I look at when I stare at myself in the mirror for hours upon end...

And I like mine. They're the one thing about me that I think is vaguely acceptable.
Sometimes they are green; sometimes they are grey. Sometimes you can see the flecks of yellow in them and other times they look almost blue.
But overall they are always as murky and deep as the sea and I like that...

As I did not post the blog I was writing, I am going to comment upon what it would have been by taking these quotes I stole out of my essay (and from others as they are actual quotes) and place them here. From them, perhaps you can get the essence of my eye essay. Perhaps not. Either way, the quotes are quite good I think and simplified what a long tirade could say in too many words. So without further ado...

"A gray eye is a sly eye, And roguish is a brown one; Turn full upon me thy eye,-- Ah, how its wavelets drown one! A blue eye is a true eye; Mysterious is a dark one, Which flashes like a spark-sun! A black eye is the best one."
-William R. Alger

"The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light."
-Matthew ch. VI, v. 22

"There are eyes half defiant, Half meek and compliant; Black eyes, with a wondrous, witching charm To bring us good or to work with harm."
-Phoebe Cary

"An animal will always look for a person's intentions by looking them right in the eyes."
-H. Powers

"My eyes are quite average and just plain ole blue, but they have seen a many wondrous things..."

What about the traditional "The eyes are the window to the soul" ?
I like that one; strange as it may seem, I find it's pretty accurate.

I don't know about it being strange... but a little too cliche for my taste...
but yes a window to the soul...

I saw a peanut stand
A rubber band
I saw a needle that winked its eye.

I saw a front porch swing,
seen a diamond ring,
I saw a polka-dot railroad tie.

I seen a clothes horse he r'ar up and buck
And they tell me that a man made a vegetable truck

I didn't see that, I only heard
But just be sociable and take my word

I saw a fireside chat,
And baseball bat
Just laughed till I thought I'd die
But there's just one thing I aint never seen and that is an elephant fly...

as far as the Dumbo reference...
good glad you know your Disney as well as I...
even if I butchered the song to fit my purposes...
good thing I have little siblings who like to watch those damn cartoons over and over and over and over and over...

Actually...back to the eyes again (another of my obsessions) - I was just having a really good look at mine and I noticed that although the overall effect is green, they are, in fact, grey with amber flashes.
Wow.
At least I have one redeeming feature, then...

I am WAYYYYYYYY more insecure than you. I am so rubbish they sent me to self-esteem class, for all the good it did me...

see the whole claiming to victory was on the behalf that I conceded that I was no competition... an an insecure feeling...
you responded in a manor that was full of confidence... you therefore lose in no competition because you didn't compete and I only won by default... the only way I can win anything, if the other person forfeits or is disqualified... it's depressing I know...
